Did Former Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy Just Reveal Which NFL Team He’ll Coach Next [VIDEO]

Former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy seemingly hinted at wanting to take over the reins of a struggling NFC team.
After a roller-coaster five-year term with the Cowboys, Mike McCarthy left the team in January following the expiration of his contract. The Super Bowl 45-winning head coach took the 2025 season off, with the plan of re-entering the HC cycle in 2026.
The Tennessee Titans and New York Giants will most certainly have HC openings after this season. They’re both vying for the worst record in football. The Titans fired Brian Callahan after a 1-5 start, and Brian Daboll was shown the door after a 2-8 start.
During a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, Mike McCarthy offered tremendous praise for Giants QB Jaxson Dart, via Christian Arnold of the New York Post:
“I love the way he plays, because when I evaluate quarterbacks, you look at the in-the-pocket ability versus the out-of-pocket. What he does naturally you can’t teach. His ability to make plays with his feet, whether it’s stepping up in the A or B gap and coming out off the movement stuff.
Just the fact they run him on so many designed quarterback runs tells you what the coaching staff thinks of him…Those are all benefits, but it’s in the pocket stuff that’s the last thing is always I felt…the real challenge for the guys in the National Football League.”
“What Jaxson Dart does naturally you can’t teach..
His ability to make plays is phenomenal and I think he has an extremely bright future”

That said, McCarthy stressed the need for Dart to protect himself and avoid taking such hard hits. Dart was drilled by Christian Elliss on a hit in Monday’s game against the New England Patriots. He avoided a serious injury, but Dart was lucky it wasn’t worse.
Mike McCarthy Could Actually Be A Good Fit For Giants

McCarthy caught a lot of heat over his final years with the Packers, and plenty during his term with the Cowboys. But we’re talking about a coach with a .608 career winning percentage who took the Packers to four NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl.
The Packers and Cowboys each finished with the No. 1 scoring offense twice under McCarthy. Dak Prescott put up his best numbers with McCarthy. And Rodgers never got back to another Super Bowl without McCarthy.
Love or hate him, McCarthy knows how to run an effective offense. The Giants haven’t had an elite scoring unit in over a decade. So why not consider McCarthy for their HC vacancy?
