Mahomes didn’t miss any time and was able to rip off several runs and scrambles to extend plays. But, that’s obviously worrisome if you’re a Chiefs fan. And it definitely bears watching for next week’s home game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Patrick Mahomes has only missed two games to injury in his career. That was back in 2019, when he suffered a knee injury against the Denver Broncos. He memorably fought through a bad ankle to help the Chiefs win in Super Bowl 58 over the Philadelphia Eagles
According to ESPN, the Chiefs entered Sunday’s game with a 40.4 percent chance of making the postseason. Obviously, their hopes dwindle significantly if Mahomes is battling something as bad as a painful knee injury.
The dynastic Chiefs haven’t shown much of the magic we’re accustomed to seeing this year. Only time will tell if they’ll discover it before it’s too late.
