The banged-up Cincinnati Bengals have received another concerning injury update, this time on star wide receiver Tee Higgins.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bengals have placed Tee Higgins back in the concussion protocol. For now, his status for Sunday’s must-win game against the Baltimore Ravens is up in the air.

The 26-year-old Higgins slammed his head on the turf twice in Sunday’s 39-34 road loss to the Buffalo Bills. He finished the day with six receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

Former Los Angeles Chargers team doctor David Chao, known as “Pro Football Talk” on social media, opines that Tee Higgins is out for the season:

Higgins suffered a concussion in the Bengals’ Week 12 game against the New England Patriots. He missed their Thanksgiving Game against the Ravens four days later.

Per Pro Football Reference, Higgins has 46 catches for 667 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games this season.

Tee Higgins’ Injury Is Another Brutal Blow To The Bengals’ Playoff Hopes

Higgins wasn’t the only notable Bengal with a concerning injury update on Monday. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson is expected to miss the rest of the regular season to undergo surgery on a core muscle. Hendrickson would likely only return if Cincy somehow went on a deep playoff run.

The Bengals’ playoff hopes were really dashed when Joe Burrow suffered a turf toe injury in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Burrow won his first three starts of 2025 ahead of Sunday’s loss. Thus, there’s no telling how far the Bengals could have gone this season if Burrow, Higgins and Hendrickson were fully healthy.
