Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has addressed the great mystery of Week 14: Was he actually wearing a thong during Sunday’s home game against the Tennessee Titans?

After scoring a rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter, Shedeur Sanders’ tailbone area was briefly exposed in the end zone. More specifically, the cameras showed an item that resembled a thong:

Fans immediately jumped to conclusions and assumed that Sanders was indeed wearing a thong. 48 hours later, the answer has been revealed by the rookie quarterback himself.

Shilo Sanders spoke to his younger brother via FaceTime for his latest YouTube video. In the brief interaction, Shilo asked Shedeur point-blank if he actually wore a thong against the Titans. Unfortunately for fans who had been laughing at Shedeur this entire time, it was all for nothing.

“You forgot I have a back injury, right? So I get my back taped,” Shedeur said. “But that is crazy, that it did look like that…that’s funny though.”

After throwing for 364 yards and accumulating four total touchdowns, Shedeur Sanders was named the Browns’ starting quarterback for the rest of 2025.

Shedeur Sanders Is Bringing New Hope To The Restless Cleveland Browns Fanbase

Not much has gone right for the Browns in another losing and uncompetitive season. The few positives include Myles Garrett’s chase for the single-season sack record and the performance of Cleveland’s rookie class.

The rookie group is headlined by defensive tackle Mason Graham, running back Quinshon Judkins and Shedeur Sanders. Browns fans needn’t be reminded about their embarrassing quarterback history, but Sanders is actually giving them some hope this year.

He entered Cleveland in a nothing-to-lose situation. If not for Kevin Stefanski’s pathetic play call at the end of Sunday’s loss to Tennessee, the 23-year-old might be 2-1 as the Browns’ starter.

Cleveland won’t be in the playoffs this year. But if Sanders finishes his rookie year on a strong note, there will be good reason for optimism heading into next year.
