Samson Nacua is tarnishing his famous last name with his alleged actions.
Earlier this week, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Adou Thiero had his SUV stolen. The Nets drafted him in the second round. However, he was traded to the Lakers in the seven-team Kevin Durant trade that sent him to the Rockets. Now he has his name floating in headlines for another reason.
The brother of Rams star receiver Puka Nacua was one of two men arrested this week. They allegedly took Thiero’s SUV without consent. Samson Nacua and Trey Rose were charged over the weekend. They took the vehicle without the owner’s consent. The two remain behind bars, according to NBC 4 in Los Angeles.
Police were called to the 1 Hotel after the SUV was tracked to West Hollywood. Rose and Nacua were detained together. At the time of their arrest, the complete list of charges wasn’t disclosed to the public.
With Samson’s connection to Puka and Adou’s link with the Lakers, the news naturally drew attention.
More On Samson Nacua

The older brother of Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua was arrested this weekend. He allegedly took the car of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Adou Thiero without his consent. Nacua and Trey Rose were reportedly arrested for taking the car.
Both parties had allegedly valeted the car and entered the 1 Hotel in West Hollywood. They were arrested after deputies reviewed the security footage and identified them. The exact details of the alleged car theft remain unclear.
Like his brother, Samson Nacua is a former BYU football player. He totaled 1,344 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns across five seasons. Unfortunately, he did not have the same ability as his brother. Puka went on to become one of the NFL’s top receivers with the Rams. Samson Nacua hasn’t made an NFL appearance.
He signed with the Indianapolis Colts after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft. However, he didn’t make the team’s 53-man roster. His second shot came before the 2024 season with the New Orleans Saints. Once again, he failed to make the team. His only professional stints consist of appearances in the UFL. Samson played for the Pittsburgh Maulers and the Michigan Panthers.
His time with the Panthers saw him suspended for a game for slapping a fan.
