Philadelphia Eagles fans certainly start their children off early when it comes to trash talk.
A familiar matchup is on the 2025 NFL playoffs’ Sunday wild-card round schedule. Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles aim to defend their Super Bowl title next month in Santa Clara. In their way are the San Francisco 49ers.
The San Francisco 49ers head to Lincoln Financial Field for a rematch of the 2022 NFC championship. All heads will need to be on deck for this contest fr the home team. With right tackle Lane Johnson being out, things aren’t going to be easy for Philly.
To make matters worse, Philly fans are going to ensure that things are uncomfortable for the 49ers and their fan base. Outside of Lincoln Financial Field, the heckling had already begun. Footage showed young Eagles fans swarming 49ers fans and verbally attacking them.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ Offense Needs To Show Up
San Francisco has traveled to Philadelphia to set up a great coaching matchup. The biggest obstacle for the Eagles is likely their own shortcomings. The team has too often made it harder than it needs to be. Specifically on offense, where the NFL’s most expensive group has underperformed.
Can this unit flip the switch in the postseason now? The 2025 Eagles have a history of failing to capitalize on vulnerable defenses. Nick Bosa suffered a season-ending torn ACL, and Fred Warner snapped his leg.
The moment is there for Philadelphia to get it done. It doesn’t have to be perfect. But it does have to be enough. ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Eagles a 56.3% chance to win. The game still has to be played out on the field.
