The Baltimore Ravens’ shocking decision to move on from John Harbaugh put the NFL in a frenzy. The Super Bowl-winning head coach became the leading candidate for multiple teams right away.

Notably, that includes the New York Giants. The Giants had already interviewed multiple candidates for their head coaching position, but they’ve now circled on Harbaugh.

According to The Athletic’s insider Ian O’Connor, they’ve even made him a very lucrative offer. If he takes it, he’s going to be one of the highest-paid head coaches in NFL history:

“I’ve had a lot of people ask about money. The Giants are well aware that John Harbaugh was making $17-18 million with the Ravens and aren’t afraid of those numbers. Expect this to come in around $20 mil per, Andy Reid’s AAV,” O’Connor wrote on X.

Of course, the Giants won’t be alone in their pursuit of John Harbaugh. Reportedly, even teams with head coaches are also interested in his services.

As reported by O’Connor and fellow The Athletic insider Dianna Russini, the Atlanta Falcons are also in the mix:

“While Harbaugh could agree to coach the Giants at any point — the team has fulfilled its Rooney Rule requirements — Harbaugh has been deliberate in this process so far. That said, no other in-person meetings with other teams have been confirmed thus far,” read the report. The Falcons did, however, announce Monday that they had completed the first official interview with Harbaugh, though the coach’s conversation with Atlanta’s new president of football Matt Ryan was conducted by phone.”

The Tennessee Titans will reportedly interview him in the coming days. Simply stated, it seems that Harbaugh can handpick his next destination.

Harbaugh has plenty of pedigree and an impressive résumé in this league. He has eleven double-digit-win seasons in 18 years with the Ravens. He also led one of the greatest underdogs of all time, winning a Super Bowl with Joe Flacco at the helm.

That being said, Harbaugh isn’t flawless. He’s not known for being a defensive or offensive specialist. He struggled after Joe Flacco, and he even missed the playoffs with prime Lamar Jackson.

Also, no one has blown more double-digit leads in the league since 2008 than him (26). That’s why whoever gets him also needs to be careful about all that money they give him.
