The Chicago Bears are changing Joe Thuney’s position for tonight’s Divisional Round Game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Joe Thuney is being moved from guard to left tackle. He’ll fill in for Ozzy Trapilo, who suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in last week’s Wild Card Round win over the Green Bay Packers.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added that Jordan McFadden will move to the left guard spot with Thuney shifting to tackle. McFadden appeared in seven games for the Bears during the regular season.

The Bears acquired Joe Thuney in a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs last year. He’s looking to win his fifth Super Bowl ring. Thuney won two apiece with the New England Patriots (2016 and 2018) and Chiefs (2022 and 2023).

Caleb Williams was sacked a league-high 68 times last year. But Thuney and the other newcomers quickly turned the unit around, and Williams was sacked just 24 times in the regular season.

The forecast has called for ice-cold conditions at Soldier Field tonight. We’ll see if the weather ends up playing a factor tonight. The winning team will face the Seattle Seahawks in next week’s NFC Championship Game.
