Derrick Henry Reveals Retirement Decision After Disappointing End To 2025 Season

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry has opened up on potential retirement plans following a disappointing 2025 season.
Much has changed since that missed field goal that broke hearts around Maryland.
The Pittsburgh Steelers won the do-or-die showdown between the teams that sent the former to the playoffs. However, they are now both seeking head coaches. The Ravens fired Harbaugh, and Mike Tomlin resigned.
As for Henry, there have been some questions over his future on the back of the failed campaign.
Of course, it wouldn’t take much to see Baltimore become a contender again. They still have Lamar Jackson as their quarterback, with several other big talents on the roster.
Henry, on the other hand, is getting older. However, it hardly means he’s looking to retire.
The superstar running back had a brilliant first season in Baltimore, registering 1,921 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns on 325 carries. Consequently, he led the league in rushing TDs, although he wasn’t as great in 2025.
The 32-year-old struggled with fumbles all season, yet still put up solid numbers.
He recorded 1,595 rushing yards for a second-straight term of scoring 16 TDs.
Derrick Henry Is Still Motivated

The five-time All-Pro ended the season with four consecutive 100-yard performances, which suggests he’s not on his last legs yet.
He recently spoke to DJ Siddiqi in an interview, revealing that he’s still keen to play.
“I’m motivated more than ever,” Henry said.“I really appreciated this year and how it all went down, because it motivated me to be ready to get back when next year comes, and work as hard as I can in the offseason to be better. I don’t have no timeline. I’m just ready to go.”
Henry signed a two-year, $30 million deal with the Ravens last May, which will keep him around until 2027 barring any changes.
