Minnesota Vikings Organization Gets Exposed By Former Player, And It’s Not Good

Former Minnesota Vikings player Kellen Mond exposed the dysfunction within the organization during his time with the NFC North team. Mond, the 66th pick in the 2021 NFL draft, signed a four-year rookie contract with the Vikings.
His NFL tenure was short, as he played only one game with the Vikings, completing two of three pass attempts. Mond then spent time with the Cleveland Browns in 2022, before being a part of the offseason or practice squads of the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.
On Thursday, he broke his silence about his NFL experience. Kellen Mond threw former coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman.

Mond wrote a lengthy LinkedIn post to explain what leadership looks like in his eyes. In the process, he called out his former head coach and general manager.
“When I was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings, my head coach walked out of the draft room. We never spoke. Not once,” Mond began.
He explained that the general manager wanted Kirk Cousins at quarterback, and the head coach didn’t. When the current Atlanta Falcons quarterback joined the Vikings, things went south, which affected Mond’s development.
“While I played for the Vikings, I never saw the General Manager and Head Coach speak. Imagine the two most important people in any organization never talking. What happens to that business? It crumbles. And that’s exactly what happened. The morning after our last game, we were told both the GM and head coach were fired. They cleaned house.”
Mond added that the way everybody handled things at that time helped him understand how much showing up and acting right can do to any organization.
The Vikings seem to be better now, but there are things that fans continue to criticize. JJ McCarthy, another young quarterback, is struggling to find a footing. Jordan Addison was arrested a couple of weeks ago on multiple charges and veteran Ryan Kelly could have his days in the league numbered.
