Eleven days before his performance at Super Bowl 60, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny already broke a major record. The global star whose presence in Santa Clara, Calif., for the big game prompted President Donald Trump to opt out of attending the showdown between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks has been a polarizing figure since he rose to fame in 2016.

Many thought he would wear a dress during his halftime performance, but TMZ denied those reports. Still, Bad Bunny is expected to make a statement in one of the biggest stages in the world.

Meanwhile, his upcoming performance at the final NFL game of the season continues to draw attention. So much so that he surpassed Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna, the 2025 and 2023 halftime show performers, respectively, with his teaser.

At 5.5 million likes and over 70 million views at the time of writing, his halftime show teaser has the most likes. He beat out Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar to earn this unofficial honor. Lamar’s post drew 3.4 million likes, while Rihanna’s got 4.1 million.

Usher, 2024 performer, couldn’t even surpass 237K likes with his teaser.

As controversial as he might be for some, Bad Bunny draws attention wherever he goes. His selection for this season’s Super Bowl Halftime Show came with a lot of criticism, but the Puerto Rican didn’t back down. Back in October, he sent a fiery message to non-Spanish speakers who didn’t want to see him perform at Levi’s Stadium.

Others have announced alternate options to Bunny for the big game, but the main star and the main show will be in Santa Clara, watching Drake Maye and Sam Darnold battle out for the Vince Lombardi trophy.
