New England Patriots Superstar Learns His Fate For Super Bowl 60 As He Faces Criminal Charges

A significant update has emerged on Christian Barmore’s domestic assault case ahead of the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl 60 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.
Last month, news emerged that Christian Barmore was charged with one count of assault and battery on a family/household member. Barmore’s ex-girlfriend spoke to police and accused him of attacking her during an argument in August.
Barmore’s arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 3, five days before Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium. With New England winning the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, there were questions about his status for the Super Bowl.
According to Travis Andersen of the Boston Globe, a judge granted a request from Christian Barmore’s lawyer to delay the arraignment until March 9. As such, Barmore won’t have any legal matters during Super Bowl week and will be able to play:
“In a motion requesting the delay, Barmore’s attorney David E. Meier said he “requires additional time to discuss the matter with Mr. Barmore and to properly and responsibly prepare for the arraignment hearing.”
Prosecutors did not oppose the request, according to legal filings.”
The Patriots defeated the Denver Broncos 10-7 in Sunday’s AFC Championship game. The Broncos could hardly muster any offense with Jarrett Stidham, who had to replace star quarterback Bo Nix after he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills.
Christian Barmore Had A Shaky 2025 Regular Season

Barmore appeared to be on the cusp of stardom in 2023, when he logged 8.5 sacks and six pass breakups. The Patriots handed him a four-year, $84 million extension in the 2024 offseason, a clear indication they expected him to take it to another level.
But injuries limited Barmore to four games in 2024. And despite the Patriots’ success in 2025, Barmore hasn’t exactly been a key reason why. He logged just two sacks in 17 games and finished with a disappointing 51.7 Pro Football Focus grade.
The Patriots’ run defense has been vital to their success this year. They could certainly use the 2023 version of Barmore against the Seahawks, who boast one of the league’s best running backs in Kenneth Walker III.
