Pat Mahomes Sr. will be staying in jail for the foreseeable future after his latest run-in with the law.

Earlier this week, news broke that Pat Mahomes Sr. was arrested in Texas after violating the terms of his probation. The father of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes was booked into Smith County Jail in Tyler.

According to reports, Mahomes violated the terms of his probation by drinking alcohol. The 55-year-old has been arrested at least three times for drunk driving-related offenses, most recently in February 2024, before Super Bowl 58 between the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.

And now, Mahomes will have to pay a hefty price after violating his legal terms.

TMZ Sports reports that Pat Mahomes Sr. will remain in prison until his hearing next month. That means Mahomes, who faces up to 10 years in jail, will have to miss Super Bowl 60:

“Patrick Mahomes Sr. will likely be spending his Super Bowl Sunday behind bars — the ex-MLB player will remain in jail until a hearing next month — with prosecutors pushing for him to serve a 10-year prison sentence for violating the terms of his probation.

As we previously reported, the 55-year-old was thrown in jail this week … and now he’s staring down the possibility of up to 10 years in prison.”

Per TMZ Sports, Mahomes Sr. also failed to show up for mandatory community service as part of his probation. He will appear in court on March 9, the outlet reports.

More to come.

He went 42-39 with a 5.47 ERA and 452 strikeouts in 709 innings pitched. Mahomes Sr. had his best season with the Mets in 1999, going 8-9 with a 3.68 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched.
