The conversation about the most hated NFL player has been around for a while. Many players seemingly got the most hate from fans, including Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, to name a few.
After the season came to an end with the Seattle Seahawks winning Super Bowl 60 over the New England Patriots, a gambling site conducted a study to find out who was the “rightful” winner of the title.
Amid rumors of a potential breakup with wide receiver A.J. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles have learned that one of their stars received the most hate on social media in 2025. Vegas Insider ranked the most loved and hated players in the league according to interactions during the past season.
“The result is a league-wide ranking of the NFL’s most loved and most hated players. Love and hate are measured separately, so the same player can rank highly in both. Players are ranked from No. 1 downward by Love Score and Hate Score. Scores are normalized on a 0–10 scale for readability, where 10.0 represents the strongest positive or negative fan reaction in the dataset.”
Jalen Hurts Is The Most Hated Player In The NFL

Among their findings, VI shared that Josh Allen is the most loved player in the league (10.0). On the other hand, Jalen Hurts drew the most criticism across the competition. He had a hate score of 10.0, the complete opposite of Allen.
Hurts leads the list by a wide margin, with Washington Commanders’ Jake Moody (9.52) and Chicago Bears’ Luther Burden (9.38) closing out the top three. In contrast, Hurts ranked 70th on the love list. Allen ranked high on both lists, as he was the No. 17 most hated player in the league.
Daniel Jones (No. 7 on the love rank and No. 5 on the hate rank), Joe Burrow (No. 15 on the hate rank and No. 21 on the love rank) are other polarizing quarterbacks around the league. Hurts’ disrespect was in full effect during Super Bowl 60. San Francisco 49ers legend Steve Young cropped Hurts out of a “GOAT” picture, drawing plenty of reactions.
