Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Pittsburgh Steelers has been a source of speculation again around the NFL. The veteran quarterback took a lot of time to make up his mind in the 2025 offseason, and many thought it would be the same this year.

Rodgers joined the Steelers on a one-year, $13.6 million deal following a tumultuous stint with the New York Jets. The four-time NFL MVP played at a decent level last season, going 327 of 498 for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns with seven interceptions.

The Steelers won the AFC North title in the final week against the Baltimore Ravens. Rodgers and Co. couldn’t move past the Houston Texans in the wild-card round, failing to end their playoff drought. Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach and Mike McCarthy replaced him. Now, the Steelers hope Rodgers wants to run it back.

During the latest edition of “The Adam Schefter Podcast,” the NFL insider discussed when Rodgers would reveal his decision.

“The belief around the league is that he’s supposed to give an answer by mid-March,” Schefter said. “Many people thought there was no chance he’d be back but it certainly sounds like it’s a consideration.”

“The feeling is that he could be back with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But, if we go back to last year, he wanted to play in Minnesota. I don’t know how Aaron Rodgers feels and I don’t know how the Vikings feel. They didn’t want to do that last year because they were being protective of JJ McCarthy.

“But, do they still feel the same way or is Aaron Rodgers part of the conversation?”

The Steelers will start a new era under McCarthy. They want Rodgers back, but the quarterback has gone silent again. He took until June to reveal his decision last year, but the saga might not be as dramatic this offseason.
