The New York Jets and Tennessee Titans have pulled off a massive trade just before the end of February. Jermaine Johnson is the latest defender to see his Jets tenure come to an end under the team’s new regime.

New York has traded Johnson to Tennessee. Defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat is heading to New York in return. The trade can become official on the first day of the new league year. Johnson was a Jets first-round pick in 2022, and Saleh was the team’s head coach at the time. He will now play under his head coach again after he was hired there this offseason.

He had 10 sacks over his first two seasons. After recovering from a torn Achilles in 2024, he returned to record 43 tackles and three sacks last season. He is a huge pickup for the Titans. The Jets picked up Johnson’s option for 2026, which leaves him set to make $13.411 million this year.

As for Sweat, he was a 2024 second-round pick in Tennessee. He has 85 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 29 career games.

This past season, the Jets also traded Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.
