A Miami Dolphins coach starred in a controversial moment back in August, when somebody called the police on him for allegedly being physical with a woman. Police arrested former Dolphins assistant coach Ryan Crow several months ago after a heated dispute with his girlfriend.
Law enforcement arrived after an argument outside of a Ft Lauderdale, Fla. apartment complex. The police department’s body cam footage shows the coach explaining what led to the argument. Things escalated after they attended a Dolphins party.
“The people I work with, their wives are really — it’s a tight group,” Crow said. “And they’re kind of weird. And I’m going through a divorce — I just introduced [my girlfriend] into that world. It’s kind of like a nasty world.
“She got introduced in it. I think they told her some stuff that really upset her. Don’t know what. Still working through that. And that’s kind of what triggered everything. That’s kind of what it was. Plus alcohol.”
The coach insisted that the altercation never turned physical, but the police still booked him. He didn’t face tougher consequences for that night.
Miami Dolphins Coach Never Faced Charges Over That Incident

Ryan Crow’s girlfriend also explained the situation to the police. She confirmed that a comment was the catalyst for their argument.
“We were at the Dolphins work party,” she said. “I was talking to one of the wives or whatever. [Crow] is still married, so we got to talking and this and that, and she was like, ‘I just want you to know, like, we’re not mad at you.’
“She just went into a whole bunch of stuff.”
She said that Crow pushed her during the incident, but she was reluctant to take further action against the coach. Police arrested Crow on one count of misdemeanor battery. Prosecutors dropped the case, saying that the victim “was adamant that she did not want charges filed.”
