Rumors about Travis Kelce have started to grow as the NFL offseason gets closer. The tight end has not said whether he will play in the 2026 season, and that uncertainty has sparked widespread speculation around the league.

Kelce built an incredible career with the Kansas City Chiefs. He helped the team win multiple championships and earned 11 Pro Bowl selections. Many fans expected him to finish his career in Kansas City, but recent rumors suggest that might not be certain.

A new rumor now connects Kelce to the New York Giants. Some insiders believe the veteran tight end could consider moving to New York if he decides to keep playing next season.

WFAN host Craig Carton went on the latest speculation. During a recent discussion, Carton said he heard talk about Kelce looking beyond Kansas City.

“The rumor is that Travis Kelce is not going to retire. He wants to come back for another year, but he does not want to go back to Kansas City,” Carton said. “I saw a story today that Travis Kelce wants to play for the New York Giants! That way he and his wife can live in New York City, she can go to every game, and Travis Kelce can be in the biggest media market in America. I know it’s just a rumor, but do not sleep on the Giants signing Kelce this offseason.”

The talk grew even more when Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post shared a mysterious post on social media. Dunleavy said he had heard a surprising New York Giants free agency rumor but wanted to confirm it with several sources before reporting it.

“I don’t usually do this but making an exception… I heard a Giants free agency rumor so outrageous today that I’m going to need like 8 sources to verify it’s true,” Dunleavy wrote.

Fans, as usual, started guessing who the post was about. Many believed it was about Travis Kelce. Some fans pointed to his connections to New York and his growing media career.

However, the situation remains unclear. Kelce has not made a final decision about his future yet.

According to Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated, two teams seem like the most realistic options if Kelce decides to keep playing. He believes the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns are the top choices.

Last season, Kelce finished with 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. He has also told people close to him that he will keep Kansas City informed while he decides what to do.

For now, the rumors continue. Many people around the NFL still think Kelce will sign a short contract and return to the Chiefs for one more season.
