New Report Reveals The Real Reason Why Trey Hendrickson Still Hasn’t Signed Anywhere In Free Agency

With Maxx Crosby moving to the Baltimore Ravens via trade, Trey Hendrickson is now the best pass rusher looking for a new home in the NFL. The former Cincinnati Bengals star didn’t have the best 2025 season, when injuries limited him to just seven games.
The Bengals refused to use the franchise tag on Hendrickson, letting him walk freely and test free agency. Two days into the legal tampering period, Hendrickson remains a free agent.
Two years removed from his best season, Hendrickson has found himself in a tough spot. He earned All-Pro Honors in 2024, tallying 46 tackles, 17.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and six passes defended. Hendrickson can still make an impact, but he faces a tough situation.
Why Is Trey Hendrickson Still a Free Agent?

On Tuesday, NFL insider Jonathan Jones reported that Trey Hendrickson and NFL teams haven’t come to an agreement since the player is asking for $10 million more per year than what teams have offered.
“Teams that weren’t in on Trey Hendrickson may get in on him as time goes on and his price aligns more with where the market views him,” Jones said. “As of this morning there were teams I spoke with who said the gap between what he wanted and what they were willing to pay was close to $10M per year.”

The Dallas Cowboys were mentioned as a potential landing spot for Hendrickson. With Rashan Gary heading to AT&T Stadium, Hendrickson’s options continue to shrink. A player of his caliber won’t miss suitors, but the money situation could hurt his plans.
