Cleveland Browns Reporter Drops Harsh Truth Bomb About Shedeur Sanders’ Work Ethic, And It Sounds Like a Serious Problem [VIDEO]

Shedeur Sanders may be a giant media darling, but it doesn’t mean every reporter is fond of what he offers on and off the field.
The 24-year-old Shedeur Sanders is coming off a sluggish rookie season. In eight games, he completed 56.6 percent of pass attempts for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Sanders was widely expected to be an early or mid-first-round pick in 2025. But he wasn’t taken until round five at No. 144 by the Browns. After his stunning draft fall, multiple reports indicated that Sanders had performed poorly in his pre-draft interviews.
The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd is one of Sanders’ best-known NFL critics. And during an appearance on the “Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show”, Lloyd didn’t hold back in his blunt assessment of Deion Sanders’ son.
Lloyd claims that Shedeur Sanders hardly watches game film and requires guidance on how to study it:
“I’ve talked to enough people and heard so much about him that’s not very good…He doesn’t really watch a ton of film. Had to kinda be shown how to watch film. Doesn’t know when he’s hot. Doesn’t know what he’s looking at in coverages.”

For what it’s worth, the Browns hosted Alabama star quarterback Ty Simpson for a visit last week. He’s the consensus No. 2 signal-caller in a weak 2026 class, behind likely No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza.
Browns Reporter on Shedeur Sanders:
“This is the spot that I’m in with Shedeur [Sanders]. I’ve talked to enough people and heard so much about him that’s not very good. What am I supposed to do with that? Am I supposed to play dumb and come in here and say, ‘Play the kid, let’s… pic.twitter.com/d2T9kXtFKW

If Sanders is to remain Cleveland’s starting QB in 2026, it’ll take him one heck of an offseason performance.
Browns Will Definitely Add Competition For Shedeur Sanders

Tua Tagovailoa (Atlanta Falcons) and Malik Willis (Miami Dolphins) quickly found new homes in free agency. Veteran standouts Kyler Murray and Kirk Cousins are still available, and there are always possible trade targets like Mac Jones and Anthony Richardson.
With two first-round picks this year, Cleveland is definitely in a good spot to make a play for Ty Simpson if they want him. He’s not expected to go until the middle or later stage of the first round.
What’s certain is that there will be competition for Sanders in Cleveland’s quarterback room. They cannot run it back with the unproven tandem of Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, who was also shaky in his rookie year.
