Jalen Hurts is one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL. As polarizing as he is, the vast majority of the time, you know what to expect from the Philadelphia Eagles star. His approach to the game reportedly caused issues with his teammates and coaches in 2025, putting him in a complex position with fans.

The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC East again, but they couldn’t defend their Super Bowl title in the 2025 NFL playoffs. The San Francisco 49ers took them out in the wild-card round, exposing the issues the Eagles had all season long.

Hurts received plenty of criticism for his actions during the season. While he prepares for a new campaign, the quarterback makes moves off the field. He appeared on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ on Monday, where he made a shocking revelation.

During his appearance on “GMA” to promote his new children’s book, “Better Than a Touchdown,” Hurts revealed that he once felt the urge to quit on his NFL dream.

“A time where I wanted to quit. There was a time, and I was actually just reflecting on this,” Hurts said.

“There was a time in college where I really questioned, you know, what’s going on… Where do I go from here? I had a lot of adversity in front of me. I was counted out, I was doubted and broken down and dissected in all these different ways.”

He said that his love and passion for the game helped him continue pursuing his dream.

“I just persevered… my passion overcame every ounce of doubt. Overcame every ounce of fear, and I think that’s the number one thing in life.

“You got to have the courage to press forward,” Hurts added. “And so, without the courage and perseverance and the resilience and the passion, I wouldn’t be here today.”

He went from being the 53rd pick in 2020 to a Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP. Hurts will be in the hunt again in 2026, as the Eagles are no longer the team to beat.
