Jerry Jones Drops Bombshell Update On Cowboys’ Renewed Maxx Crosby Pursuit

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones opened up on the team’s interest in Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. The Cowboys were reportedly close to landing Crosby after offering a first- and a second-round pick and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
The Baltimore Ravens won the bidding war with two first-rounders. However, when everybody thought they would terrorize opposing offenses with Crosby as their star defender, they backed out of the deal.
Crosby is committed to the Raiders again, but the belief around the league is that this won’t be the last we hear about a potential trade involving the five-time Pro Bowler. The Cowboys, again, could be in the mix for his services.
Jerry Jones Doesn’t Rule Going After Maxx Crosby

Jon Machota of The Athletic reported on Friday that Jerry Jones declined to rule out a potential pursuit of Maxx Crosby. Speaking with reporters at an event promoting an IndyCar series race that is going to be run by AT&T Stadium, Jones made a clear statement.
“We’re pretty far down the road relative to what our plans are,” Jones said. “So while I don’t anticipate it, I don’t want to rule anything out.”
Even so, he said he felt good about the moves they made to improve the defense, which posted a historically bad season in 2025.
“I feel very good about it,” Jones said. “We have nowhere but up to go on defense. That’s not anyone’s fault at all. But we’re going to almost assuredly be much better. And I’m betting on us improving on offense. That ought to get us with a better feeling when we get into December.”
The Cowboys traded for Rashan Gary and signed Jalen Thompson to revamp their defense. Having Maxx Crosby and Quinnen Williams terrorize opposing quarterbacks would be a dream for the Cowboys.
