The 2026 NFL offseason keeps bringing new rumors. The A.J. Brown trade saga went quiet at the start of free agency, but the buzz reignited by the end of this week. Brown, alongside Maxx Crosby, became the most popular name in trade talks after the season finished.
With Crosby back in Las Vegas after a failed trade to the Baltimore Ravens, all the attention turned to Brown. The star wide receiver was linked with the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams. However, the Rams decided to rule themselves out of the race.
“On Friday, The Athletic reported that the Eagles had ‘serious conversations’ about a trade for A.J. Brown with the Rams and the Patriots,” ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio wrote on Saturday. “As we understand it, however, the Rams tapped out of the talks.”
Florio added that the Patriots are still in play to land Brown, even after they signed Romeo Doubs.
Philadelphia Eagles Won’t Trade A.J. Brown Now

On Friday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the Eagles made a final decision on Brown’s future. They won’t trade him now, although a deal could happen in a couple of months.
“After serious conversations with both the Rams and Patriots, the Eagles will not trade A.J. Brown at this time, according to multiple league sources. Both teams remain interested, but no move is imminent. If a trade were to happen, it would likely heat up closer to June 1,” the insider wrote.
Philadelphia isn’t closed to the idea of running it back with A.J. Brown. With Kevin Patullo out, the possibility of seeing a new offense is high.
