The Miami Dolphins are making big changes to their team, and it has led to more trade rumors about De’Von Achane. On Tuesday, Miami traded WR Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos, showing they are serious about rebuilding.

In return, the Dolphins got first, third, and fourth-round draft picks. The team has also made several other cuts and moves, which has left the roster with fewer experienced players. Reports say Achane could be the next player traded if another team offers a first-round pick.

Miami is also dealing with salary cap problems. The team has over $160 million tied up in players who are no longer on the roster. Because of this, they are making tough decisions and focusing on collecting draft picks for the future.

Trade Calls Expected To Increase For Achane

Teams across the league now see an opening. Once Miami traded Waddle, interest in Achane picked up quickly. Executives view him as one of the top dual-threat running backs available. He produced strong numbers last season despite a struggling offense, with 1,350 rushing yards and 67 receptions.

The Dolphins had earlier said they wanted to keep both Waddle and Achane, but that plan has changed. The team recently signed Malik Willis after moving on from Tua Tagovailoa, which suggested they wanted to keep good players around him. But trading Waddle shows a different direction.

Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team summed up the situation clearly. “Dolphins RB De’Von Achane is 24 years old and entering the final year of his contract. It would make sense to keep him so Malik Willis has something to work with, but it’s safe to say teams will be calling,” Meirov wrote on X.

Miami faces a tough call. Achane remains one of the few playmakers left on the roster. Trading him could leave the offense with almost no proven weapons. Keeping him, however, means preparing for a costly contract extension soon.

Some teams already show interest. The Seattle Seahawks have emerged as a possible landing spot. Any deal would likely require both draft capital and a long-term contract.

For now, the Dolphins hold the leverage. But with the rebuild in full swing, Achane’s future in Miami looks far from certain.
