The Maxx Crosby trade saga became one of the hottest topics in the NFL until the Baltimore Ravens agreed to send two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for the star defensive end. Baltimore backed out of the trade due to a “medical issue,” but fans and other general managers around the league couldn’t understand why.

Before the Ravens pulled the trigger, several teams were linked with the five-time Pro Bowler. The New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys had an interest in the defensive star. The Cowboys tried hard to land him, but their efforts weren’t fruitful.

According to Jeremy Fowler (via Football Forever on X), the Cowboys made a total of three offers for Crosby. The final one included this year’s No. 12 pick and a future second-round pick. Baltimore didn’t entertain a single one.

A couple of days after the Ravens called off the trade with the Raiders, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones declined to rule out a potential pursuit of Crosby.

“We’re pretty far down the road relative to what our plans are,” Jones said. “So while I don’t anticipate it, I don’t want to rule anything out.”

The Cowboys have had a busy offseason, making moves to improve their defense. Adding Crosby would have taken them to another level, but they don’t seem like favorites to land him now.
