Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer addressed Dak Prescott’s status and well-being at the 2026 NFL league meetings.

Three weeks ago, news broke that Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos called off their wedding, only a month before they were set to tie the knot. The two reportedly got into a heated argument and scrapped the wedding during their joint bachelor and bachelorette party in The Bahamas.

It was subsequently reported that Ramos had caught Prescott using “burner” accounts on social media to communicate with other women. Prescott and Ramos have two daughters.

Despite the difficult personal life circumstances, Prescott appears to be in a good mental state. At least, that’s what Brian Schottenheimer told reporters at the meetings, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota.

“Dak and I have had a ton of conversations,” coach Schottenheimer said. “He’s in a really good spot. Obviously what he’s dealing with is incredibly tough. But if anyone can handle it, he can.”

Though the Cowboys missed the playoffs for the second straight year in 2025, Prescott had one of his best statistical seasons. The 32-year-old completed 67.3 percent of pass attempts for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns and only 10 picks.

The Cowboys’ offseason got off to an excellent start, with Jerry Jones extending star running back Javonte Williams and placing the non-exclusive tag on George Pickens. Those two moves ensure the Cowboys’ explosive offense won’t miss a beat.

Jones also went to work in fixing a lousy defense. He traded for ex-Green Bay Packers star edge rusher Rashan Gary, signed former Arizona Cardinals safety Jalen Thompson and ex-Los Angeles Rams corner Cobie Durant.

With the NFC East wide-open in 2026, the Cowboys are in a good spot to end a three-year playoff drought and reclaim the division crown.
