Dallas Cowboys Land Maxx Crosby “Pro Bowl” Alternative In Ambitious Trade Proposal

The Dallas Cowboys have had a busy offseason, keeping their offense in a solid spot while improving the defense. The Lone Star brought in Rashaan Gary from the Green Bay Packers, safety Jalen Thompson from the Arizona Cardinals and cornerback Cobie Durant from the Los Angeles Rams.
The cherry on the top would have been Maxx Crosby, but the Las Vegas Raiders rejected every offer the Cowboys sent their way.
Despite being on the market again, apparently, Dallas would be better off moving on from Crosby. Instead, they could focus on a young player who would elevate their pass rush to new levels. However, it won’t come easily.
Dallas Cowboys Trade Up To Land Texas Tech Star David Bailey In Big Proposal

During Friday’s edition of his podcast, NFL draft expert Todd McShay of The Ringer floated the idea of the Cowboys sending their first three picks in 2026 to the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 2 pick. They would go after Texas Tech edge David Bailey in that scenario.
“Trading out of No. 3 remains one of the priorities, or one of the things that could absolutely happen with Arizona,” McShay said. “There’s a lot of buzz about Dallas, and what comes to the noise, with Dallas trading up from 12 to three to get Bailey, right?
“Keep it in state. Texas Tech, pass rusher. Most importantly, they’ve put all their efforts into rebuilding that defense over the last year. But then there’s the back-and-forth. … When I say to you that Arizona could be trading out of that spot, a team could be trading up, for an edge. Specifically, David Bailey.”
Bailey’s scouting report says he has a “Pro Bowl upside.” He drew comparisons with Denver Broncos star Nik Bonitto. Three selections appear too much in this case, more so knowing that the Cowboys own the No. 12 and No. 20 picks in the first round.
Still, crazier things have happened before. They could take the final piece they need for a fully revamped defense with that No. 2 pick.
