Patrick Mahomes did not attend teammate George Karlaftis’ wedding in Greece last weekend, but he still congratulated the couple online.
Karlaftis and his longtime girlfriend, Kaia Harris, shared photos from their May 9 wedding at the One&Only Aesthesis resort in Greece. Mahomes later commented on Instagram
“Congrats!!!!,” Mahomes wrote.
Mahomes stayed in the United States while continuing rehab from the knee injury that ended his 2025 NFL season. During Mother’s Day weekend, he spent time with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and their children at CPKC Stadium supporting the Kansas City Current.
The Current also posted photos from the game on Instagram featuring Patrick and Brittany.
“Another Mahomes Mother’s Day Co-owners @brittanylynne & @patrickmahomes enjoying a dub at home,” the caption read.
Mahomes and Brittany are part owners of the NWSL club and have become heavily involved in women’s sports investments. Reports last year also linked them to a $275 million investment connected to a new women’s professional sports league.
Several Chiefs players attended the wedding celebrations in Greece, including Travis Kelce and his fiancée, Taylor Swift. Reports said the couple danced together during the event.
Mahomes Balances Rehab And Growing Business Interests

Mahomes continues to focus on recovery after tearing both his ACL and LCL during a December game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach recently said the quarterback sits “way ahead of schedule” in his rehab.
Mahomes has worked at the team facility throughout the offseason while targeting a return for Week 1 of the 2026 season. Kansas City reportedly plans to open the season Sept. 14 against the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football.”
While Mahomes stayed home, Karlaftis celebrated one of the biggest moments of his life shortly after securing a four-year, $93 million contract extension with Kansas City.
The Chiefs selected Karlaftis with the 30th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Purdue University. He has recorded 30.5 sacks and 34 tackles for loss across four NFL seasons.
Karlaftis told People that the ceremony became the emotional highlight of the weekend.
“I think my favorite part was the ceremony because I got really emotional, more than I expected to,” Karlaftis said.
“I didn’t expect to cry as much as I did during the ceremony. I was borderline bawling when I saw Kaia and her dad walk down the aisle,” he continued.
Karlaftis and Harris first met in high school in West Lafayette, Indiana. Both competed on the track team before attending Purdue together. The couple got engaged in April 2025.
