Despite rumors and speculation, the Jaguars allowed him to play on both ends of the field. However, many consider that the load he carried in 2025 caused his season-ending injury.

Hunter prepares for his return, hoping to help the Jaguars improve their performance from last season. They had a solid player in their hands, but Deion Sanders believes they could have done more with him.

During a recent appearance on “The Barbershop,” Sanders openly questioned why the Jaguars never reached out to him after picking Hunter with the No. 2 pick in the 2025 draft.

“That wasn’t asked of me a year ago,” Sanders said while discussing NFL teams reaching out about his son, Shedeur. “I don’t understand it. Like, even a guy like Travis Hunter being drafted to Jacksonville, and I’ve had him for the last three. Don’t you think you would want to talk to me to let me know to ask me how what gets him going and what backs him off?”

After helping Hunter become a star in college football, Sanders surely knew how to get Hunter going. Time will tell if they will change their approach next year.
