Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in 2025. The young star rivaled Puka Nacua for the unofficial title of the best WR in the league last season.

He posted 119 receptions (fourth in the league), 1,793 yards (first) and 10 touchdowns (sixth) to help the Seattle Seahawks record a 14-3 record and secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

“JSN” won the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year award after his impressive performances. The league gave him his award, but it was a complete disaster.

Smith-Njigba took to his Instagram story to blast the NFL after they made multiple mistakes in the Offensive Player of the Year trophy. For starters, the plaque said “Defensive Player of the Year.”

He didn’t hold back and charged against the league.

“I really want to expose them. It’s getting disrespectful, guys,” he said, before pointing out at the “Defensive” mistake.

Defensive” and said, “Defense? Come on, bro.” He also pointed to “Theyear” and said, “One word? Man.”

The former Ohio State star didn’t want to have another trophy after this fiasco.

“Its getting disrespectful at this point,” Smith-Njigba posted in a caption. “Just keep the award at this point. Leave it in the history books tho.”

Considering the high standards the NFL has for everything they do, this is uncharacteristic. Hopefully, they can fix this and be extra careful next time.
