Drake Maye and the New England Patriots went through a major turnaround last season, going from four wins in 2024 to 14 in 2025, their first season under Mike Vrabel. The campaign earned him the Coach of the Year award, putting the Patriots on the map again.
However, everything went south when a series of pictures of Vrabel and NFL insider Dianna Russini hit social media. The pair tried to dismiss the photos, but when more evidence surfaced, the situation got out of control.
As the Patriots prepare for a new season, Maye and his wife, Ann Michael, try to move past the situation. On Sunday, Ann Michael spoke about the team’s offseason and the preparations for a new campaign.
“I feel like everything happened so, so fast here,” she said at her husband’s charity event. “We’ve grown to love this place in a short amount of time.”

Drake Maye Shows Total Support for Mike Vrabel

At the end of April, Drake Maye discussed the Vrabel situation. He expressed his support for the coach during the most difficult moment of the scandal.
“We’re here for Coach, we love Coach,” Maye told 7News Boston WHDH. “What he does for us, what he’s done for us this past year, you can’t speak into words.
“Just thankful he’s our head coach. Know he’s dealing with some off the field and out of the coaching world, but we’re here for him and I know he’s gonna come back.”
The Patriots have high expectations after they returned to the Super Bowl last season.
