NFL Is Being Urged To Ban O.J. Simpson’s Jersey No. 32

Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya Brown, is calling on the NFL to make a major change that would help erase OJ Simpson’s legacy.
June 12 will mark the chilling 32nd anniversary of Nicole’s murder. The number holds more meaning for her sister, given that it was the one Simpson wore during his playing days.
As such, she wants it scrubbed across the league.
“It’s also the 32nd year of Nicole and Ron’s murders,” Tanya told TMZ Sports this week. “Every time I see someone on the field with that number, it brings me back and I have trauma.”
While she isn’t going to challenge the NFL to abolish No. 32 through official channels, she hopes her public statements will raise awareness and eventually influence the league.
Tanya told the publication that the number is a trigger for her and other football fans.
“I would love for the NFL to realize this is very triggering as a football fan as well,” she continued. “I hope they take my statement into consideration and get rid of the number 32.”

Tanya has also proposed that, if the NFL won’t outlaw No. 32, then they should dedicate it to Nicole and Ron Goldman.
“As the 32nd anniversary approaches, Tanya says she wants people to think of Nicole and Ron when they hear No. 32 … not O.J. Simpson,” TMZ noted.
Meanwhile, Tanya is urging folks to take part in candlelight vigils organized by the Flock of Angels Network set for next Friday at 8:00 PM. The vigils will honor Nicole, Ron and other victims of violent acts.
Simpson died from prostate cancer in early 2024, 30 years after the murders in question, having been acquitted in court.
It will be interesting to see whether the NFL will respond to the Brown family’s plea.
