Simone Biles has taken to social media to reveal she nearly died, eliciting concern from fans. 

The gold medal gymnast only recently shared footage of herself performing acrobatic flips on a trampoline. However, it appears she’s been through quite the scare since then.

Biles revealed she had come close to meeting her end earlier this week, but would not go into detail. 

“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age. But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week,” she wrote on Instagram.

“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. … I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers.”

As noted above, the post drew widespread concern.

“Thanks for sharing. Praying for your complete healing and swift recovery. May God restore you,” one user wrote.

“Omg. Get well ASAP, please! Prayers going up for you, Simone. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏,” someone offered.

“Looks like her hand is swollen, maybe an IV infiltration or a reaction to meds, along with a hospital ID bracelet,” another user observed.

While there were many well-wishers in the comments, others felt Biles was being dramatic.  

“I’m not one to share things but I’m gonna let everyone know I almost died and then not give any details about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” someone commented.

“God I hate when influencers do this shit. Like spare us the fake worry if you’re not gonna tell your audience what happened 🤦🏼‍♀️ Rare Simone L… but obviously I hope she’s ok whatever happened,” said a second.

“I almost died, spent a week in the hospital, but my husband kept playing football,” another wrote.

Whether she shares what actually happened remains to be seen.
