The NFL could make a shocking decision and cut ties with FOX and all because of political pressure. The league has been under heavy scrutiny after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed fans had to pay over $1,000 to watch games.
While the league responded to the claim, Congress has been active in trying to get to the bottom of the situation. On Wednesday, it held a two-hour meeting regarding the league’s broadcast antitrust exemption
Clay Travis, a Fox News contributor, said he didn’t like how the league has raised the cost of games amid the surge in streaming platforms.
Mike Florio Says NFL Could End Deal With Fox

FOX’s current deal with the NFL runs through 2029. However, the league could shock the world and end it early, according to Mike Florio of NBC.
“It would be a stunning move, if it happens. Fox arrived as a disruptor in 1994, snatching the Sunday afternoon NFC package from CBS and holding it for 32 years and counting,” Florio wrote.
“Murdoch doesn’t seem to care. He has drawn a line in the sand, and he has been willing to use everything at his disposal to get the NFL to tread lightly when it comes to the potential sale of more games to streamers.”
FOX and CBS are the NFL’s two biggest right-holders. The former could end up with empty hands in 2030, but the league might need to find a partner willing to fill in for the giant network.
