The Chicago Bears appear to have another quarterback in Cole Kmet. The veteran tight end has become a leader on and off the field, and he could take his game to a new level in 2026.

Playing under Ben Johnson could unlock a new level in his game, and perhaps Caleb Williams could keep an eye open on this development.

On Friday, the Bears shared a video of Kmet showing off more of his talents on the field. He remembered his times as a pitcher and made a perfect throw.

Many fans reacted to the clip, with some recalling that he used to play baseball in college, while others predicted Ben Johnson would use him during the season.

“What many don’t know about Cole is he was Notre Dame’s ace on the baseball team for a year or two before he decided to focus fully on football his junior season,” one said.

“Double reverse from Burden to Kmet is about to hit reminder *Kmet was a LHP at ND*,” another said.

“He’s def throwing a td this year. Everytime he’s on the field I’ll be watching him like a hawk lol,” one commented.

“You know that’s going to be in this years playbook lol,” another wrote.

“So that’s definitely a trick play coming out of BJs bag this year,” one added.

The Bears already came up with terrific trick plays last season. This could open the door for many more opportunities, especially in the red zone.
