Johnny Manziel didn’t hold anything back after Cleveland radio personality Tony Rizzo criticized remarks the former Browns quarterback made about his time with the franchise.

The latest controversy stemmed from comments Manziel originally made in October 2025, when he admitted he never truly felt connected to Cleveland during his brief NFL career. Those remarks resurfaced this week, prompting Rizzo to question why Manziel continued speaking negatively about the city years after his departure.

Manziel responded Tuesday with an explosive post on X that quickly grabbed attention across the NFL world.

“Rizz, you stupid c—. These comments were made in October of last year but of course you bored homos in the Cleveland media have nothing to speak about because your quarterback stopped banging massage therapists and you can only speak about losing so much to all of the people that listen to this trash a– show,” Manziel said.

He didn’t stop there.

Johnny Manziel Says Browns Failures Went Beyond Him

Manziel argued that too much blame has been placed on him for one of the worst stretches in Browns’ history.

He acknowledged his own mistakes but insisted the organization also failed him during his two seasons in Cleveland.

“My tenure in Cleveland was doomed by a lot more people than just me. I’ve taken plenty of responsibility for my failures in that building and in that city.”

The former first-round pick also pointed toward several figures from the Browns organization, questioning why they rarely receive the same criticism.

“By the way have you spoke to or about our sixth pick in the draft that year Justin Gilbert lately? Or what about our all-world coach that was hired Mike Pettine?”

Manziel concluded by arguing that even the greatest quarterback in NFL history couldn’t have succeeded under those circumstances.

“Tom Brady couldn’t have won with our roster from 2015. Just move on, f— off and leave me out of this bull—-.”

The comments immediately sparked debate among Browns fans, with some agreeing that Cleveland’s instability played a major role in Manziel’s downfall while others argued he remains responsible for wasting his opportunity.

More than a decade after Cleveland selected him with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Manziel remains one of the most polarizing players in franchise history.

His career lasted just two seasons before off-field issues and inconsistent play ended his tenure with the Browns.

Since leaving the league, however, Manziel has become increasingly candid about his NFL experience, frequently discussing his personal struggles, substance abuse, and the organizational dysfunction he believes contributed to his failure in Cleveland.

Whether fans agree with his assessment or not, his latest response made one thing clear.

Johnny Manziel has no interest in reopening old wounds simply because Cleveland media personalities continue revisiting his past.
