Former NFL star Terrell Owens has added his voice to the growing calls for answers in the death of Nolan Wells.

Owens shared an Instagram post urging President Donald Trump to get involved as investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the 18-year-old football player’s death.

“If you can make a call to overturn a call for a soccer match then you can make a call for the JUSTICE of Nolan Wells,” Owens wrote.

He also argued that race continues to play a role in cases like this.

“As it relates to THIS case and many many others, RACE MATTERS!” Owens wrote. “Our black kids are dying at an alarming rate due to racism.”

Owens ended his message by offering support to Wells’ family.

“My heart and prayers goes out to the family of Nolan Wells. I am with you. WE are with you.”

Wells disappeared during a Fourth of July boat trip to Mississippi’s Horn Island. Search crews found his body two days later.

Authorities have not announced an official cause of death. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office continues investigating the case. Officials have also asked the public to submit any photos or videos from Horn Island that could help establish a timeline.

Wells’ family has repeatedly questioned the circumstances surrounding his death. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump now represents the family and has called for a thorough investigation. The district attorney’s office has also confirmed the case will go before a grand jury once investigators finish their work.

The FBI recently confirmed it is assisting local investigators with certain aspects of the case, including threats made against people connected to the investigation. Officials stressed that the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office remains the lead agency.

Questions surrounding the case have fueled widespread discussion online. Viral videos and social media claims continue to circulate, though authorities have not verified many of them.

Wells’ parents have continued urging anyone with information to come forward as they search for answers.

Owens is the latest high-profile figure to publicly support the family’s push for justice as the investigation remains active.
