The Los Angeles Rams hoped to celebrate franchise history with two new alternate uniforms.
Instead, they found themselves on the receiving end of plenty of online criticism.
The team unveiled its “Classic Sol” and “Fearsome White” uniforms during a season-ticket member event at SoFi Stadium on Thursday.
The designs pay tribute to two different eras of Rams football.
“Classic Sol” honors the franchise’s 1951 NFL Championship team with a bright yellow jersey, royal blue numbers and vintage-style sleeve stripes.
Meanwhile, “Fearsome White” draws inspiration from the road uniforms worn by the legendary “Fearsome Foursome” defenses of the 1960s and early 1970s.
The Rams also continued using the helmet-front wordmark introduced during recent uniform updates.
While the organization celebrated the new looks, they didn’t quite land on social media.
One user claimed, “They both ugly.”
“Listen… the yellow ones are kinda a**,” said another.

Los Angeles Rams’ New Look Not The Hit They Expected

Several commenters took particular aim at the yellow “Classic Sol” uniform.
“The worst uniform I’ve ever seen & a Colts cosplay,” someone claimed.

“Those yellow alts are ugly asf,” someone else wrote.

Sports radio personality Damon Bruce didn’t hide his opinion either.
He advised the team to “Burn the yellow ones.”
Peter Bukowski offered a split verdict.
“The white ones are sick,” he wrote. “The yellow ones are truly terrible.”
“Only the rams can have a perfect early uniform and manage to make it terrible with every change,” said a fan.

The Rams have spent the past several seasons tweaking their uniforms, with fans having criticized the original redesign introduced following the team’s move back to Los Angeles.
Those recent changes included simplifying the jersey numbers and retiring the off-white “Bone” uniforms.
The new alternates will make their on-field debuts later this season. “Classic Sol” is scheduled to appear against the New York Giants on Sept. 21, while “Fearsome White” will debut against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 25.
Of course, winning has a way of making almost any uniform look better, which could very well be the case, given Myles Garrett’s arrival
