Matthew Stafford offered a calm take on Puka Nacua’s early exit from practice. The Rams quarterback spoke after Tuesday’s joint session with the Dallas Cowboys. Nacua left the field with trainers and did not return.

Stafford said he did not see what happened.

“I did not. I’m not really sure what the issue was, but nobody ran up to me in a panic, so I don’t think it was anything too major,” he told reporters.

Head coach Sean McVay also lacked a clear update at the time. He noted that other receivers stepped up in Nacua’s absence. The star wideout had been active earlier in the session.

Nacua is dealing with more than a possible practice injury right now. The star receiver remains under NFL review for potential personal conduct discipline. Offseason incidents and a civil lawsuit continue to hang over his status.

Those issues could affect his availability for the season opener. The Rams open against the 49ers in Australia. Any combination of injury and league discipline would create a major problem for the offense.

Nacua led the league in receptions last season. He remains the focal point of the passing attack. Stafford relies on him heavily in critical situations.

The timing of the practice exit raised immediate questions. Nacua has dealt with physical setbacks in past camps as well. This latest moment arrives while the league still reviews his off-field matters.

On Tuesday, ESPN insider Adam Schefter already warned about possible discipline for Nacua and other players. A short-term injury on top of that review only increases the uncertainty.

Stafford’s comments suggest the practice issue may not be serious. Still, the Rams will monitor Nacua closely in the coming days. Full clarity on both the physical and league sides remains pending.

The wide receiver’s presence is vital for Los Angeles. Any extended absence would force adjustments across the receiving corps. Fans and the team now wait for the next update on Puka Nacua.
