New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo made his highly anticipated return to the field on Sunday night.
Initially, a gruesome right ankle dislocation and a fractured fibula tragically ended his impressive rookie campaign last October.
He underwent extensive surgery followed by ten grueling months of intensive physical rehabilitation. Consequently, he worked his way back onto the active roster without carrying any injury designation for Week 1.
Refs Miss the Hit on Cam Skattebo and SNF Explodes

A return from a ruined ankle was supposed to be the story. The replay of Cam Skattebo being punched became the story instead.
One ref could be seen looking right at Cam Skattebo as he got punched in the kidney by a Cowboys player. No flag was thrown for the infraction.
“How does the ref miss the cheap shot kidney punch on Cam Skateboo???” one person asked.
The RB Makes His Presence Known Early

So far, Cam Skattebo has recorded 17 carries for 73 rushing yards and one touchdown tonight against the Dallas Cowboys. He averaged a solid 4.4 yards per carry while executing a long run of 10 yards.
In addition, his early three-yard touchdown run successfully opened the scoring for the New York Giants. He did struggle slightly with ball security by committing one fumble during the game. Fortunately, the resilient running back quickly recovered his own mistake to prevent a costly turnover in the fourth quarter.
His physical contribution kept the offense moving effectively on the ground all night. Consequently, winning this game would be huge for a young Giants team as they go into their second year of a massive rebuild. With Odell back on the team, it could give Giants fans hope of possibly sneaking into the playoffs.
