The Real Words Turned Out Far Less Dramatic
Mirror US Sports had an expert study the footage frame by frame. The reading told a much simpler story than fans expected. Swift was actually shouting, “Oh, he’s open. He’s open. Get off of him, geez.”
That explanation lines up with what was happening on the field. Kelce was open on the play in question. He caught the pass before getting tackled for a short gain. It’s exactly the sequence Swift appeared to react to in real time.
Swift has attended plenty of Chiefs games since her relationship with Kelce began. Cameras often cut to her suite during broadcasts.
Some fans have grown frustrated with how often that happens instead of showing the game. That frustration likely fueled the more dramatic assumptions before the lip reading set things straight.
This Wasn’t The Only Moment Fans Tried To Decode
Swift’s suite also included another attention-grabbing guest on Monday night.
Tom Cruise sat beside her for an extended conversation early in the broadcast. That sparked a separate wave of speculation about what the two were discussing. One joke meme even falsely put words in Cruise’s mouth about Scientology.
Cameras found Swift again later in the game following Kelce’s 59-yard catch in the third quarter. She kept drawing attention throughout Kansas City’s 31-10 win.
