Cowboys & Browns Get Big Trade Update On Maxx Crosby After Impressive Week 1 Performance

The Las Vegas Raiders convincingly won against the Miami Dolphins in their season opener, 27-13. While Kirk Cousins and Ashton Jeanty received most of the praise, it was Maxx Crosby who spearheaded the Raiders’ defense in the win.
The superstar defensive end played 45 total snaps against the hapless Dolphins. He recorded two combined tackles and three QB hits. Additionally, he surpassed the 70-sack career mark in the win. He now has 71 career sacks.
However, with the Raiders not officially pegged as a Super Bowl contender, trade talks surrounding Crosby have persisted.
Bears Are Linked To Maxx Crosby
While it’s unclear if Las Vegas will trade Crosby sometime this season, his performance in Week 1 surely made other teams notice. Fringe contenders that struggle to sack opposing QBs are going to need somebody like Maxx Crosby on their teams.
Former offensive lineman Michael Schwartz sees the Chicago Bears as a team that could potentially pursue Crosby via trade.
“You almost wonder if maybe there’s a Maxx Crosby trade brewing at the deadline, some way to kind of bolster that defense,” Schwartz said during his appearance on ‘The Jim Rome Show.’
“If they (Chicago Bears) are going to score the way they are and they’re going to have 10-, 14-, 17-point leads in the third and fourth quarter, you’re going to have to get after the quarterback at some point. You’re going to have to make a couple of stops. A guy like that brings versatility in running and passing,” he continued.
Cowboys Are Linked To Crosby Too
After Crosby’s botched deal with the Baltimore Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys have emerged as a potential spot for the star DE.
Then, after a series of moves before their season opener, there’s real noise that Jerry Jones might make a move for Maxx Crosby.
“With more than $30 million in 2026 cap space now on hand, the Cowboys have plenty of space to absorb a veteran contract (or two) via trade. Coincidentally, or not, Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has a 2026 base salary of $30 million. Just saying,” Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio said.
Crosby signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Las Vegas Raiders in March 2025. He has an annual salary of $35.5 million. If traded to either team, he would no doubt become their defensive ace on the field.
