The Rams fell 30-26 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night after leading 16-0 at halftime. Stafford threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns but also recorded two interceptions. One pick-six by Talanoa Hufanga gave him the NFL record for career pick-sixes.

NFL on Prime reporter James Palmer (via Dov Kleiman) shared footage of Stafford leaving the field. The clip shows the veteran walking through the tunnel while appearing to spit.

Observers quickly focused on the location. Denver’s 5280 sign marks the city’s mile-high elevation and holds local meaning.

“Was that the 5280 sign Stafford spit on?” 9NEWS reporter Mike Klis asked.

“Did he just spit at someone ?” someone asked.

“There was a trash can over there. Fake AI,” one fan claimed while questioning the intent.

“Trash can is the other way, douche,” a separate user offered while viewing the same footage.

“His spit was intercepted by Hufanga,” another wrote, trolling the quarterback.

There is no official confirmation that Stafford targeted or struck the sign. The video does not clearly show the landing spot of any spit.

Los Angeles controlled the first half behind Stafford’s early efficiency. The Broncos then mounted a full second-half rally led by Bo Nix. Hufanga’s two interceptions, including the late end-zone pick, sealed the result.
