The Kansas City Chiefs need help at wide receiver, and bringing in some experience could be just what they need.

Kansas City lost Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton to injuries during its Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Rice suffered what coach Andy Reid called a “tweaked hamstring,” while Thornton dislocated his ankle and could be out for most, if not all, of the season.

That leaves the Chiefs looking for extra help at the position. Jerry Jeudy could be a great fit as a trade target. The Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver hasn’t played much early this year, and one report hints that Cleveland might be open to trading him.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report included Jeudy on his Week 5 trade block big board. He also listed Kansas City as a possible fit for the veteran receiver.

Knox pointed to Cleveland’s young receivers as one reason Jeudy could become available.

“Jeudy is being ‘squeezed out’ of the offense by promising rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, who have quickly emerged as go-to targets,” Knox wrote.

Jeudy has caught just five of eight targets for 62 yards this season. That comes after he enjoyed the best season of his career in 2024.

The Browns acquired Jeudy from the Denver Broncos in 2024. He responded with 90 catches for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns.

His numbers dropped in 2025, but Cleveland also struggled to get steady play from its quarterbacks. Jeudy still has a track record that could interest teams looking for help.

Kansas City could use what he brings. The Chiefs need another reliable option who can create separation and make plays down the field.

Jeudy could also help open things up for Xavier Worthy. Worthy has the speed to stretch defenses, while Jeudy can work underneath and in the intermediate areas.

A group featuring Jeudy, Rice, and Travis Kelce could give Patrick Mahomes more options once Rice returns.

Jeudy’s contract could also make a trade easier. Knox noted, “A 1,200-yard receiver and a Pro Bowler in 2024, Jeudy should interest receiver-needy teams, as should his 2026 base salary of $1.5 million.”

The Chiefs could also pursue former star Tyreek Hill. Adding Hill and Jeudy would give Kansas City plenty of options as it tries to build another Super Bowl run.
