Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors Get Major Update After Colts’ Front Office Shake-Up

The Jonathan Taylor saga might be getting started now. The Indianapolis Colts entered the season with high expectations after Daniel Jones returned from injury, and Alec Pierce signed a new contract.
Taylor agreed to a contract extension, too, but his contract could be shipped somewhere else before this year’s deadline. Several teams, including the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants, could be in the market for a running back, and Taylor could be the final piece to complete a championship-caliber team.
After the Colts fired Chris Ballard, the front office faces big questions about the franchise’s direction. Besides weighing a reunion with Peyton Manning, they could part ways with Taylor.
Colts Face Tough Decisions As The NFL Trade Deadline Approaches

Stephen Holder of ESPN reported on Thursday that multiple teams “would be open to a potential trade” for Taylor.
“The Colts are still plotting their next moves after Monday’s firing of general manager Chris Ballard, with many around the NFL expected to gauge the team’s interest in dealing some of its key players,” Holder wrote.
“Taylor was a 2020 draft pick of Ballard, who went on to sign Taylor to two contract extensions. The most recent, a three-year deal, was signed in August. But depending on how the weeks between now and the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline play out, the Colts (2-4) might be inclined to consider offers for their key talents.”
Taylor, 27, is in the middle of his prime. He has carried the ball 122 times for 492 yards and seven touchdowns this season. The Texans could make a move for him, too, but the Colts have the final say on this situation.
