The Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints played their Week 7 matchup today at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France. It marked the first-ever regular-season NFL game played in France.
Riots and overall unrest didn’t deter the league from playing the game. The NFL announced a record attendance of 78,488 ticketed fans at Sunday’s matchup.
That number was certainly too much for the venue, because there was a major issue.
Fans Report Food Shortage at Stade de France During First NFL Game in Paris

Fans reported food shortages at the Stade de France during the NFL’s historic first regular-season game in Paris. Attendees took to social media during halftime to complain that concession stands inside the stadium had completely sold out of food.
“My sister’s friend at the #Steelers #Saints game in #Paris says the stadium allegedly ran out of food before the half. 👀,” one person said online.
It is currently unknown what happened in the second half with trying to feed fans. That seems like a nightmare that should’ve never happened.
In the game, Aaron Rodgers threw his 540th career touchdown pass to move into sole possession of third place on the NFL’s all-time list.
They went on to beat the Saints 16-10, thanks to Rodgers scrambling for a late first down that allowed them to bleed out the clock.
