The NFL trade deadline is on Nov. 4 and we’ve already seen quite a few deals made around the league. Based on how the latest NFL standings look and some intel from NFL trade rumors, it certainly appears like there’ll be more activity than usual in the weeks ahead.

Before the Week 7 action kicks off, we’re highlighting a few NFL trades we’d love to see.

By happenstance, the Green Bay Packers face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Sunday’s look could provide Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst with a chance to get a first-hand look at a veteran interior defender who could make a real impact for this defense.

  • Green Bay Packers trade: 2026 fourth-round pick
  • Arizona Cardinals trade: Calais Campbell

Green Bay already lost standout defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt to a knee injury. Now, defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness is out indefinitely with a knee issue. It’s left the team dependent on Karl Brooks and Colby Wooden to fill in, since Nazir Stackhouse has proven unplayable. Entering Week 7, Campbell has the third-highest ESPN pass-rush win rate (17 percent), and he’s been a solid interior run defender. Carrying just a $6 million cap hit, he’d be an outstanding half-season addition to the Packers’ defensive line.

Carolina Panthers Address Pass Rush with Jaelan Phillips Trade

The Carolina Panthers run defense has been transformed this season, going from the league’s worst unit in 2024 to a top-10 run defense this season. Meanwhile, Carolina’s passing game is improving and those two steps forward have resulted in the team sitting at .500 for the first time since 2021. However, there’s one glaring need that needs to be addressed if the team wants to challenge for a playoff spot.

  • Carolina Panthers trade: 2026 third-round pick* (fourth-round pick if he doesn’t re-sign)
  • Miami Dolphins trade: Jaelan Phillips, 2027 fifth-round pick

Entering Week 7, Carolina ranks 29th in ESPN pass-rush win rate (30 percent) and it is last in pressure rate (8.4 percent). Because the Panthers don’t have a consistent pass rush, opponents still have plenty of success passing on this unit. Jaelan Phillips, who has 16 pressures in his last four games (PFF), addresses that glaring weakness. Carolina could make its draft pick sent to the Miami Dolphins contingent on Phillips re-signing this offseason.

Breece Hall Traded to Los Angeles Chargers

He on from Breece Hall. While the young running back wants to remain with the team, he’s prominent in NFL trade rumors and the Los Angeles Chargers are known to be in the market for a running back following major injuries to Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton.

  • New York Jets trade: Breece Hall
  • Los Angeles Chargers trade: KeAndre Lambert-Smith, 2026 fourth-round pick

In exchange for Hall, New York picks up a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft that can be treated as a lottery ticket in a class that looks relatively deep. The Jets also get to take a chance on rookie wideout KeAndre Lambert-Smith, a fifth-round pick who has only played 53 offensive snaps this season and currently is a distant fifth on the depth chart. Meanwhile, Los Angeles gets a high-end starter who is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season and would greatly benefit from sharing the backfield with Justin Herbert.

Philadelphia Eagles Acquire Rasul Douglas

The abrupt retirement of Za’Darius Smith certainly makes edge rusher a need that Howie Roseman could address at the NFL trade deadline. For now, though, we’re focusing on a veteran who could help out this Philadelphia Eagles defense as an outside corner.

  • Miami Dolphins trade: Rasul Douglas
  • Philadelphia Eagles trade: 2026 sixth-round pick, 2027 fifth-round pick

Entering Week 7, Kelee Ringo (15.2 yards per completion allowed) continues to struggle in coverage, and veteran Adoree Jackson (193 receiving yards allowed in five games) hasn’t been any better. Rasul Douglas has been a lone bright spot in Miami’s secondary this season, and he has minimal help around him. In Philadelphia, Douglas would fill in perfectly as the No. 2 corner with Quinyon Mitchell lined up against No. 1 receivers and Cooper DeJean manning the nickel.

Kansas City Chiefs Trade for Kayvon Thibodeaux

For the sake of Steve Spagnuolo’s sanity and Patrick Mahomes’ hopes for another Lombardi Trophy, the Kansas City Chiefs need to acquire another edge rusher. Entering the middle of October, Kansas City placed 24th in ESPN pass-rush win rate (37 percent); its 17.7 percent pressure rank is bottom-10. Chris Jones and George Karlaftis desperately need the help.

  • Kansas City Chiefs trade: 2026 second-round pick, 2027 fourth-round pick
  • New York Giants trade: Kayvon Thibodeaux

Kayvon Thibodeaux is a bit expendable for the New York Giants given the emergence of Abdul Carter. Flipping him for premium draft capital can either mean surrounding Jaxson Dart with more long-term help or flipping some of those picks for a wide receiver (Chris Olave or Jakobi Meyers). As for the Chiefs, they get Thibodeaux through 2026, providing Spagnuolo with an edge rusher who would be set up for success in a defense that has a great play-caller and two excellent pass rushers.
