Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco turned back the clock on Thursday, much to the delight of pro football fans everywhere.

Rodgers, 41, and Flacco, 40, headlined this week’s “Thursday Night Football” clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rodgers showed flashes of his Green Bay Packers self, going 23/34 for 249 yards with four touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. His most impressive play of the day came on an incompletion with seconds left in the game.

With the Steelers trailing 33-31 in their own territory, Rodgers loaded up a 70-yard Hail Mary throw that reached the end zone. Rodgers could not recreate another “Miracle in Motown” moment, but he did show the world that he may still have the strongest arm in the game.

Flacco may have secretly worn a Baltimore Ravens jersey underneath his Bengals garb on Thursday night. He looked like the best version of himself, throwing for 342 yards with three touchdowns. The home crowd was stunned as Flacco even ran for 13 yards on a critical fourth quarter play.

Several fans could not help but joke that the matchup looked like Tom Brady taking on Peyton Manning in their respective primes.

In all fairness to Flacco and Rodgers, their prime selves weren’t too shabby either. They surprised everyone in the matchup one Steelers player dubbed the “Icy Hot Bowl.”

Thursday night was quite a time for aging sports legends. 41-year-old pitcher Max Scherzer also had a moment when he screamed at his Toronto Blue Jays manager not to pull him early from his ALCS Game 4 start. He then proceeded to strike out his next batter on four pitches.

Age is just a number, folks.
