Aaron Rodgers could return for the 20226 NFL season.

The veteran quarterback is still as competent as they come and had a bit of a renaissance in 2025.

Rodgers, 42, played through a solid season with the Pittsburgh Steelers following a torrid spell with the New York Jets.

He threw for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions on 65.7 percent passing.

There’s speculation over whether he’ll be back next term; the QB previously indicated he would take his time making a decision.

The Steelers will enter the upcoming campaign under a new head coach following Mike Tomlin’s resignation. Mike McCarthy has since taken over and has made it clear that he would love Rodgers back.

“I mean, I don’t see why you wouldn’t [want Rodgers back],” McCarthy said. “When guys are at that stage in their career, they need to take a step away and decompress. This game is so emotional, so that time away is important.”

It appears the Steelers will attempt to re-sign Rodgers.

However, should they fail to do so, the Minnesota Vikings could be his next stop. That’s according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, and if he does not retire.

The Vikings are thought to be in the market for a new quarterback following a season with J.J. McCarthy.

“Last year, [Minnesota] looked at Rodgers,” Fowler said on ‘Get Up’ this week, per On3.“There were some people in the building that wanted Aaron Rodgers last year. He wanted Minnesota. The GM, who is now gone, they have to fill that spot.”

Fowler suggested that Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell has enough clout to bring in Rodgers if the team misses out on other options.

“But, Kevin O’Connell, the head coach, has a lot of influence over there. If they strike out with some other options and strictly need a bridge and they develop JJ [McCarthy], do you go with Rodgers?”

Rodgers would come in as an immediate upgrade who could also help mentor McCarthy. He could be tempted by the wide receiver room in Minnesota, which includes Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
