All football fans know and love Jameis Winston. He is quite the character.
Despite the glitz and glamour, not everything started great for him in his pro career, and it had to do with his family.
The Giants quarterback shared a candid story about the financial reality he faced after entering the league, which should serve as a cautionary tale for all players.
During a recent appearance on No Free Lunch with Ndamukong Suh, the New York Giants quarterback discussed the hard lesson he had to learn about his finances.
Early in his career, Winston revealed that his biggest expenses stemmed from his efforts to help everyone he loved, which led him to spend nearly $400,000 a month.
“It got to a point where I enabled the people around me spending like $400,000 a month,” Jameis Winston said. “A month, bro.”
The veteran quarterback explained that the eight-figure number he saw in his bank account created an illusion in his head that the money he obtained was endless. Once he began tracking his expenses, he quickly changed his mindset.
One of his most notable purchases was a high-end massage chair, which cost around $4,600, and was given to his grandmother.
“I bought a fancy chair for my grandma,” Winston recalled.
Jameis Winston Heads Back To The Bench

Jameis Winston kept the Giants competitive in both of his starts while Dart was unavailable. He will now head back to the bench, not because of poor gameplay, but because Dart is back in action.
In two games played, Winston has provided the world with hilarious mic’d-up commentary, as well as a touchdown catch where he shed a tackle attempt on the way to the end zone.
As exciting as it was to watch Jameis Winston moonlight as a wide receiver, it’s Jaxson Dart time again in New York.
The rookie quarterback will start Monday night vs. the Patriots, Giants coach Mike Kafka confirmed Friday.
New York will travel to face the 10–2 Patriots in Foxborough on Monday.
